Dancing with the Stars season 25 premiere: Watch online
Are you ready for another season of Dancing with the Stars to begin tonight, with Mark Ballas and other pros starting a new journey with new celebs?
It’s season 25 of Dancing with the Stars, and if the show’s new logo is any indication, that’ll be a big part of the season overall. (That big 25 is rather obvious, isn’t it?) Since we’re in the first week, there will be a lot of dances to get through, meaning the pre-performance videos detailing the couples might just be restricted to early mishaps, first impressions, and everyone discovering who their partner is.
ABC’s details of this first episode neither confirm nor deny those guesses, but that release does inform us about who’s dancing what (although not when).

Just looking at the dance card here, the head-to-head tango between Nikki Bella and Jordan Fisher might be the most interesting part of scores tonight, because pretty much everyone else has the fairly expected early dances of cha cha and foxtrot … and then there are two salsas, also completely out of nowhere. Those four celebrities have the chance to make a early strong impression by rocking some slightly tougher dances (though all dances are hard, some are tougher than others).

But the foxtrot group and the cha cha group especially aren’t completely out of luck. There’s still plenty of opportunity to establish themselves with fans, and Dancing with the Stars has gotten a little cute by putting Vanessa and Nick Lachey in the same dance category this week. How much will the show emphasize that? The probable answer is simply “a lot.”
Also, the press release does note that there will, of course, be a special performance to start the show, and it explicitly mentions Len Goodman will participate. Why just Len and not the other two judges? That might be a mystery we will never solve.

The Dancing with the Stars press release does not confirm a Tuesday episode this week, but it does note that we’ll see everyone back next week.
