4. Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

I wanna start out by saying, I think Iowa City is getting a bit of a raw deal with College GameDay electing to go to Times Square in New York City instead of coming to Iowa for their showdown with the Penn State Nittany Lions. On one hand, I think it’ll be an interesting scene, but on the other, it’s not a college football town and there’s no campus setting, which is kind of the whole point with GameDay, but that’s beside the point.

Now that I endeared myself to the great Hawkeye fans, now I have to tell them why they’re going to lose on Saturday night.

Iowa has proven to be a giant-slayer before, and you only need to look to last year when they upset Michigan with a late field goal, ending the Wolverines chances of a Big Ten title, in the process. And while I have been surprised at how well Iowa has played at times this year, I don’t see how they can stop or even slow down Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. He may be the best player in college football this year and with his improved receiving ability, he can beat teams on the ground and through the air. Coupled with Trace McSorley who may be the best quarterback in the Big Ten, it’s going to be a pick your poison kind of arrangement for Kirk Ferentz’s team on Saturday night.
