Another week of Big 12 football is over. How do the rankings look for Week 4?
The Big 12 had another week of exciting football. This saw all 10 teams take to the field over the weekend, which included the USC vs. Texas game on Saturday night. The Longhorns nearly pulled off the upset but fell to a game-winning Trojan field goal.
Outside of them, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State had dominating wins. Their respective offenses look like the best in the nation, with no sign of slowing down.
The bottom of the Big 12 had its issues, however. This included another loss for Baylor and Kansas.
How did this impact the Big 12 rankings for the latest week? Let’s take a look.
Another week, another loss for Baylor. This came against a better team than Liberty and UTSA, but Duke still won easily, 34-20, to send the Bears to 0-3 and at the bottom of the Big 12 Conference. It’s a disastrous start for a program that’s trying to get out of turmoil. Clearly, that will be a multi-year process.
Quarterback Zach Smith, who replaced the struggling Anu Soloman, didn’t perform well, either. He completed just 12 of 34 passes against Duke for 263 yards and three interceptions. It would be difficult to see the staff go back to Solomon, but unless the team starts winning games, all starting jobs should be up for grabs.

Next is a game against No. 3 Oklahoma, so Baylor is in for by far their toughest test. Don’t expect things to change.
Kansas had the positive start in Week 1, with a win over SEMO. Then came the Central Michigan game, which brought the Jayhawks down to earth. A loss to Group of Five’s Ohio, 42-30, sent them to 1-2 and into a tailspin.
Running back Khalil Herbert delivered an impressive performance in the loss. He had 137 yards on 19 carries. The team threw 47 times, though, to try to get back into the game.
Next is a game against West Virginia, who will be Kansas’ toughest opponent of the season, and their start to the Big 12 schedule. Like Baylor, don’t look for anything to trend up.
