3. Darren Sproles

In your leagues, any of the Eagles’ running backs could be on the waiver wire. Before the season, we were scrambling for LeGarrette Blount. After Week 1, Wendell Smallwood and even preseason performer Corey Clement were on fantasy owner’s radars. Now, it’s Sproles’ turn. I chose Sproles as the sleeper out of the backfield for his game against Kansas City, and he came through to the tune of 48 rushing yards and 30 through the air.

Shockingly, Blount had zero carries after a 14-48 performance last week. His 3.3 yards per carry average was atrocious, but I don’t think anyone saw a complete demotion coming. After a lot of pre-game talk about Clement handling a larger workload and practising with the first team, he didn’t touch the ball either. Even Smallwood only had three carries for a weak four yards. It was all Sproles.

There’s no way Carson Wentz and Philadelphia should be throwing the ball 46 times, so their immediate priority must be fixing the running game. Sproles has been the most successful of all the backs in doing so and even at 34 year old, remains electrifying with the ball in his hands. Make sure he’s not still out there, even in non-PPR leagues.
