Calvin Ridley

Wide Receiver, Alabama

The Buffalo Bills will have two picks in the first round next April, as they traded with the Kansas City Chiefs last year so the Chiefs could move up and draft Patrick Mahomes II. That pick is going to be way later in the first round, as the Chiefs have a Super Bowl-ready team in 2017. With their first pick, Buffalo should look to bring in a wide receiver, and there is none better than Calvin Ridley of Alabama.

Some would argue Christian Kirk is the best wideout in this draft, but I give a slight nod to Ridley Ridley has played in huge games during his collegiate career, and is one of the better playmakers in the SEC. Alabama does not throw a lot, which makes Ridley’s production even that more impressive, so he could be even better in the NFL.

Buffalo needs playmakers, as they have leaned on running back LeSean McCoy for way too long. They bid farewell to Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods this offseason, swapping them with Jordan Matthews and second-round pick Zay Jones. Ridley would immediately be the top wide receiver on the depth chart in Buffalo, and quarterback Tyrod Taylor needs more playmakers if the organization is going to stick with him.
