Lamar Jackson

Quarterback, Louisville

The Miami Dolphins came away with a road victory in Week 2, which proved to be their season opener after Hurricane Irma shut them down in Week 1. It took a missed field goal by Chargers rookie kicker Younghoe Koo to get the job done, but they still went West and got a win in Jay Cutler’s debut. Cutler was supposed to spend the 2017 NFL season in the broadcast booth, but he will instead try to navigate a playoff-ready Miami  team back to the postseason.

No matter what Cutler does, it is time for some new blood under center in Miami. Incumbent starter Ryan Tannehill is an injury ready to happen, and he has been wildly inconsistent when he is on the field. Bringing in a player like Louisville’s Lamar Jackson would give the franchise a legitimate chance to have a star quarterback for at the next ten years.

Jackson won the Heisman Trophy last season, and despite that, did not get much love in the preseason. That means nothing, as the tape does not lie when it comes to him. Jackson has the ability to move the chains with his arm, or his legs, and his decision making ability continues to get better. He is going to go in the first round, and the Dolphins would be lucky to get him if they do in fact pick this late.
