The Bulls front office is “more than willing” to work with Wade as they want what’s best for both sides.

Bulls Vice President of Basketball Operations John Paxson has said that the team is engaged in talks with Dwyane Wade’s representatives. Although the team has yet to discuss the future with Wade, Chicago is prepared to buyout his contract. However, the Bulls want what is best for both sides, not just the player.

Wade joined the Bulls after 13 seasons with the Miami Heat. In 2016, Wade averaged 18.3 points and 3.8 assists per game, his worst points per game total since his rookie year and worst assist total in his career. Behind Wade and Jimmy Butler’s leadership last season, the Bulls managed a mere 42-40 record. The mediocre record saw Chicago finish ninth in the East, missing the playoffs by two games.

At 35, Wade’s window is beginning to close. He is no longer capable of carrying a team solely on his back. All things considered, it may be time for Wade to accept a bench role. With Butler being traded to Minnesota on draft night, Wade realizes that the current Bulls team has a small chance at a post-season appearance in 2017. At this point, Wade is now likely to chase rings to add to his future Hall of Fame legacy.

All chatter out of Wade’s camp is purely speculation at this point in time. However, rumor has it that Wade’s mind is set on a buyout with the Bulls. If that is the case, Wade will likely reunite with former Heat teammate LeBron James in Cleveland. Wade would add depth to an already strong bench for the Cavaliers and maybe be the final piece of the puzzle that would see the Cavaliers hoist a trophy. But first, Wade must come to an agreement with the Bulls.
