3. Georgia Bulldogs

Rank: 11, Opponent: (17) Mississippi State Bulldogs

While I still think Jacob Eason is blessed with tremendous NFL gifts and can be a good quarterback, it’s hard to think that the Georgia Bulldogs haven’t been given a blessing in disguise by allowing Jake Fromm to take over under center. The young quarterback has been phenomenal to this point over the first three weeks and has the Bulldogs looking like the class of the SEC East by a mile. With the way Nick Chubb is running now too, they could run away with the division.

Having said that, they are going to be tested heavily this week. This isn’t to say that Georgia is overrated or anything, but rather a statement that Mississippi State might still be underrated.

Last week, Nick Fitzgerald and Mississippi State went toe-to-toe with the vaunted LSU Tigers and just hit them in the mouth. They didn’t just upset Ed Orgeron’s team, but they eviscerated them to the tune of 37-7 on the scoreboard. The quarterback is one of the most underrated players in the country with viable dual-threat ability. What’s more, they’ve proven to have a quality of defense that can stop the run.

While Georgia’s offensive line should help Chubb out a bit more than LSU’s did Derrius Guice, the Mississippi State front still presents quite a challenge for the UGA offense. At the very least, this game could go either way. But there’s no question that Georgia needs to be on high alert for getting knocked off.
