Pierre Garcon showed off that veteran savvy of his on Thursday night with this incredible catch on the sideline against the Rams.

It always helps in the NFL to have a seasoned veteran on your team, and the San Francisco 49ers do have one of those on the offensive side of the ball in the form of wide receiver Pierre Garcon. Thursday night, he reminded everyone just why he’s such a great wide receiver.

This week’s edition of Thursday Night Football sees the 49ers at home taking on the Los Angeles Rams in a California showdown. In the second half of this one the Niners were trailing the Rams and needed to make every play they could, especially converting first downs.

Well, Garcon did get his team a first down with a catch, and it just so happened this catch was one of the best we’ve seen of this young season thus far. Brian Hoyer fired the ball to the left side where Garcon made the incredible toe-dragging catch, where he somehow was able to keep the feet in bounds.

No, seriously, you have to take a closer look to see and appreciate just how amazing this catch really was.

That right there is just flat out insane, and it shows the veteran presence here of someone like Garcon as he was somehow aware enough to keep his feet in bounds on the play. Brian Hoyer might not be the best quarterback in the league by any means, but it definitely helps when you’re throwing the ball to someone like Garcon.

With the Niners still trailing in the second half, though, they’ll need a few more of these plays if they want that first win of the season.
