These five college football head coaches need a win in the worst way in Week 4.

The time for excuses is just about up and the time to turn in tangible results is now. For college football’s hot seat, a warm chair sits firmly ablaze for many coaches at the moment. This is going to be a year of huge change around the country and multiple coaches are going to meet their fate.

Despite the fact that it is only Week 4, it feels as if several coaches could soon be reaching that end of their tenure. History plays a huge part, but multiple coaches have gotten off to disastrous starts that have likely already doomed them.

If there is a silver lining, they’re still the coach until the program says otherwise. That being said, they better start turning things around soon or it is going to be the end. Here are five coaches that need a win in Week 4.

5. Mark Whipple

As UMass continues to trend down and in a hurry, Mark Whipple needs his team to go on a miracle run or he might as well call it a decade. After a disastrous year last year, another bad year is likely going to be his end.

The team is already off to an 0-4 start and things don’t get easier with their next battle. They have to play the Tennessee Volunteers and that’s basically guaranteeing that they’re going to start the season 0-5.

After a horrible year last year, starting the season 0-5 is pretty much reason enough to start fresh and in another direction. To ask this team to rattle of six of the last seven games that they play is basically asking for the impossible.
