1. Mike Riley

Mike Riley is the king of the hot seat this week in college football. After the disappointing start by Nebraska, Riley’s job doesn’t appear safe in the slightest. In fact, this feels like a change that could be right around the corner.

When the program sent the A.D. out the door, it became clear that Riley’s life upon the hot seat was here for good. Now, the 1-2 Cornhuskers have to figure out how they’re going to go about the rest of the year.

This distraction is going to hang over their head and the program is not playing good football right now. It feels like one of those things where a complete overhaul is absolutely needed for things to be right.

That likely means that Riley isn’t going to be around much longer and with the descent the program has taken in college football, it’s likely for the best. The Cornhuskers aren’t meant to be an average program.

There is too much pride and tradition here for them to not be a top program. The writing is absolutely on the wall and after their game against Rutgers, it will be very telling about which way they are heading, if it isn’t already.
