College football predictions for the biggest and the best Week 4 games, including who will win the TCU-Oklahoma State showdown.

Where did the time go? We’re already at Week 4 of the college football season. It seems like just last week that we were watching Alabama and Florida State on the opening Saturday of the season and looking forward to the Labor Day weekend. Now, we’re seeing Halloween candy being sold and the seasons are changing as fall is upon us. Well, depending on where you are in the country, it may actually feel closer to June than October, but I digress, it’s football season and we’re in the thick of it. Conference play is getting fully underway and players are beginning to assert themselves in the Heisman Trophy conversation.

I’m also trying to assert myself over my partner-in-crime and make a move with this week’s college football predictions. After a 9-1 start to the year, I took it on the chin last week, going 2-3 and failed to hit on my upset pick of Louisville over Clemson. It’s okay though because Week 4 brings about five fresh games for me and Jack Jorgensen to predict for you. Take our advice liberally and be sure to think twice before throwing down any big bucks on any of these games. These predictions are for novelty use only!

Overall Record: Schmidt: 11-4, Jorgensen: 9-6

5. UCLA at Stanford – 10:30 p.m. EST – ESPN

Schmidt: Stanford

Jorgensen: UCLA

4. NC State at No. 12 Florida State – 12:00 p.m. EST – ABC

Schmidt: Florida State

Jorgensen: Florida State

3. 4. Penn State at Iowa – 7:30 p.m. EST – ABC

Schmidt: Penn State

Jorgensen: Penn State

2. No.17 Mississippi State at No. 11 Georgia – 7:00 p.m. EST – ESPN

Schmidt: Georgia

Jorgensen: Mississippi State

1. No. 16 TCU at No. 6 Oklahoma State – 3:30 p.m. EST – ESPN

Schmidt: Oklahoma State

Jorgensen: Oklahoma State

Most of my reasoning for picking Stanford over UCLA is I just can’t fathom a world where a David Shaw-coached team loses three straight games. After losing to USC and San Diego State the last two weeks, I think the Cardinal get back on track against UCLA and Josh Rosen. Jack is thinking Rosen saw what Sam Darnold did to the Stanford secondary two weeks ago and thinks the potential No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft lights it up in a win.

We also differ on the SEC crossover between Mississippi State and Georgia. I was so close to picking Dan Mullen’s team to pull off the upset because they looked fantastic last week in their 37-7 win over LSU. Having said that, I think the road venue in Athens will be the difference in a game that’s likely decided in the closing minutes.
