Interference gives John Cena vs. Roman Reigns a DQ finish

John Cena vs. Roman Reigns will eclipse Lesnar vs. Strowman as the main event of No Mercy. It’s because this match can sell out a WrestleMania event, if WWE decides to go that route. Maybe they’ll do this, but with a championship on the line. It can be Reigns defending against Cena, who wants his 17th title reign.

Save this for the first real finish to a Cena vs. Reigns match. That means look for a disqualification for their matchup on Sunday night.

This is as polarizing a match as it gets in the WWE. It’s between two of the biggest names of the past decade, whose characters have been compared and linked to each other since Reigns burst onto the scene as a singles star in 2014.

WWE can’t just give the finish away at a show like No Mercy. That seems like a waste, especially when there are shows like Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and WrestleMania, the show WWE should reserve this match’s finish for. However, the company gave away a Shield Triple Threat match at Battleground 2016, instead of using it for a bigger show. The same went for Bayley’s WrestleMania moment, which landed on an episode of Raw on February.

Someone should be sent out to cause a disqualification for Cena vs. Reigns. Lesnar might work for this, as he can destroy the two competitors that have given him fits in the past. Paul Heyman can play it as his client wanting to eliminate the competition below him, especially after running through Strowman. This can eventually backfire and allow Reigns and Cena to join the title picture. What if Lesnar defended the Universal title against them at Survivor Series?
