The Allianz Stadium in Turin will play host to the hotly-contested derby when league leaders Juventus take on Torino. Regardless of where either team is in the standings, this game brings out the best in both sides. As has been the case in recent years, Juventus are the stronger side, but Torino also bring decades of history and a fanbase hungry for a victory against their city rivals.

The match, also known as the Turin Derby, is named after the Mole Antonelliana, a landmark and the city’s architectural symbol. The teams first met in 1907 with the derby contested 195 times when taking into account official matches, which includes Coppa Italia games. Juventus have won the game 84 times and are again favored to win this weekend.

The league leaders have had a great run of form thanks to the scoring heroics of Paulo Dybala. While the Argentine has drawn comparison to his countryman Lionel Messi, it’s agreed by most that he’s not at the same level yet. Dybala is nonetheless a superstar on a team that has striker Gonzalo Higuain not scoring enough goals and its usually-solid defense giving up some easy goals. Dybala has almost single-handedly guided the Old Lady and would not be where they are in the standings without him. Troubling for Juve is the lack of goals coming from star striker Higuain. Despite the goal drought, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said he’s not worried.

“There needs to be patience and that’s it,” he told Sky Sport. “The league’s top scorer doesn’t win the Scudetto, the team does … The goals will come.”

Torino, currently fifth with 11 points, has gotten off to a strong start this season. The Granata snatched a win in midweek, defeating Udinese 3-2 in a game highlighted by awful defending and part of a high scoring trend that has dominated Serie A this season. While that type of play earned Torino a victory against a club of the same caliber, a similar approach could lead to a lopsided loss to Juventus. The team coached by Sinisa Mihajlovic are led offensively by striker Andrea Belotti and midfielder Adem Ljajic, both with three goals this season. Ljajic scored the winning goal Wednesday against Udinese.

“It will be risky for us to play this way against Juventus. It will be tough for us if we do,” Mihajlovic told reporters after the Udinese match. “Certainly against Udinese it was a game that was doubly important. Getting points allows us to climb the table, but it will also help us prepare for the derby in the best way possible.”
