The bright spot for Brian Kelly’s team has been quarterback Brandon Wimbush. His dual-threat ability provides the offense with a spark, especially with his legs. He had 207 yards rushing and four touchdowns in a win over Boston College, a school record for a quarterback.
In the same game, running back Josh Adams had 225 yards of his own. The Irish totaled over 500 yards on the ground, an incredible feat.
Michigan State enters at 2-0. Like Notre Dame, they’re led by a dual-threat quarterback,
Brian Lewerke. He not only has 411 passing yards through two games, but 150 yards on the ground, which leads the team. This two-way play will need to continue in order for the offense to keep up with their opponent’s.
