Here’s how to watch Saturday’s nonconference clash between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Houston Cougars online.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will look to close out their nonconference slate at a perfect 3-0 with a win over the Houston Cougars on Saturday afternoon at TDECU Stadium.

Kliff Kingsbury’s team nearly blew an 18-point lead last week against Arizona State before winning 52-45 on Dylan Cantrell’s short touchdown run with under two minutes remaining. Texas Tech’s offense has lived up to lofty expectations by scoring an average of 54 points per game in wins over the Sun Devils and Eastern Washington, which has been enough to overcome a shaky defense so far.

Senior quarterback Nik Shimonek has been nearly flawless replacing Patrick Mahomes under center with 927 passing yards, nine touchdowns and no interceptions through two games. Keke Coutee has emerged as Shimonek’s favorite target with 285 yards and three touchdowns, while Desmond Nisby can provide some power running out of the backfield at 6-1, 235 pounds.

Houston is expected to fall off a bit with former head coach Tom Herman off to Texas, but has enough talent remaining to challenge for an AAC title. The Cougars earned a hard-fought road win over Arizona to open the season before dominating in-city rival Rice last weekend to move to 2-0.

Sophomore defensive tackle Ed Oliver is one of the best players in college football and has racked up 17 tackles with two forced fumbles already. Houston’s offense also looks to be in capable hands, as Texas A&M transfer quarterback Kyle Allen is completing 86.2 percent of his passes in the early going.

Sportsbook Review lists the Cougars as a touchdown favorite, with the over/under set at a healthy 71. If Allen continues his early season form, the Texas Tech defense will have its toughest challenge of the season by far.
