The West Virginia Mountaineers will face off against the Kansas Jayhawks Saturday. Here’s how to watch one of the most explosive teams in college football online.
The West Virginia Mountaineers hope to find their third straight victory as they play Kansas. Kickoff from KU Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas on Saturday will be at 12:00 p.m. ET. ESPNU will have the telecast. The available live stream will be on WatchESPN.
West Virginia began the season ranked 22nd in the country, but a loss to Virginia Tech saw them kicked from the top 25. They have won two straight games against weak non-conference opponents and hope to do the same in Week 4. Will Grier is playing admirably at the quarterback position. He’s thrown for 1,027 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions on 65.7 percent passing. Grier has thrown for three or more touchdowns in four of his last five games. West Virginia is helped by a great receiving core made up of Gary Jennings, David Sills V, and Ka’Raun White. Not only have the Mountaineers passed effectively, but their ground game has been clicking, as well. They average 212 rushing yards per game. A lot of this is due to the skill shown by Justin Crawford, who has 326 yards and five touchdowns in three games. Defensively, West Virginia has not looked as sharp.

This is where Virginia Tech was able to expose the Mountaineers. They give up an average of 413.3 yards per game. This will need to be improved before Big-12 play or West Virginia could be disappointed. While they shouldn’t have any problem with Kansas, they want to play their absolute best as a primer for upcoming conference games.

The Kansas Jayhawks aren’t seeing as much success to start the season. They are currently 1-2, having beaten Southeast Missouri State in Week 1, but losing to Central Michigan and Ohio by multiple scores. Turnovers have been a major problem for Kansas in the early going. A lot of this has originated from the quarterback position. While Peyton Bender is passing for a lot of yards, his accuracy isn’t very good. He is completing 58.2 percent of his passes for 1,030 yards, six touchdowns, and a whopping five interceptions. The Jayhawks’ ground game has been decent. They average 109.3 rushing yards per game. Sophomore Khalil Herbert has stepped up by gaining 147 yards and scoring two touchdowns, almost totaling his numbers from last year in just three contests. The Kansas defense has been an obvious weakness. They are allowing an average of 34.3 points and 431 yards per game. Kansas needs to improve their defense if they want to turn it around after many disappointing seasons. Additionally, one might think playing at home would be an advantage for the Jayhawks, but they have lost five of their last eight games in Lawrence.
