6. Always finish the play

When will they learn? So many times we’ve seen players either drop the ball or fumble right before scoring a touchdown. It happened again today in the Bears-Steelers game and it’s one of the craziest plays you’ll see this season.

Just before halftime, the Bears blocked a Chris Boswell field goal. The ball landed right into the hands of cornerback Marcus Cooper Sr. as he ran untouched to give the Bears a 21-7 lead… or so he thought. Cooper slowed up before heading into the end zone and Steelers tight end Vance McDonald came from behind and punched the ball out. The ball rolled out of the back of the end zone for a touchback.

You really have to watch the play for all of this to make sense. Luckily, the Bears did get the ball back and were able to kick a field goal to hold a 10-point lead. It was enough as they upset the Steelers in overtime for the 24-17 win.

5. Big man gets the rock

Feed the big man! We love it whenever the big men get their hands on the football and that was in full display this afternoon during the Jets-Dolphins game. Jets defensive lineman Lawrence Thomas lined up in the backfield as a full back and caught the play-action pass from Josh McCown for the first down and more.

Normally teams will put in a bigger lineman to help with blocking, but the Jets had a completely different idea. McCown knew exactly where he was going with that play and it was executed perfectly. It was one of the many highlights the Jets had today as they came away with the win over the Dolphins.
