The Houston Texans are hanging in their with the New England Patriots in the first half. Here is a great scoop and score by Jadeveon Clowney on Tom Brady.

The New England Patriots have owned their rival in the Houston Texans in recent years. Though the Texans have the defense to match the New England offense, the Texans weren’t seen as a team that had much of a shot of winning up in Foxborough in Week 3.

Well, it turns out that the Texans are giving the Patriots a run for their money in this game. One play that has made it a very close one in the first half was this terrific scoop and score by Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

It all starts with Houston defensive end Whitney Mercilus coming around the edge to strip sack Brady from behind. The ball would be popped up near Clowney and he would proceed to take it to the house for an easy defensive touchdown for the Texans.

New England may be coming off a game where the Patriots offense lit up the lousy Saints defense, but it hasn’t blown the doors of the Texans just yet. Houston probably needed a defensive touchdown to be able to even think about winning on the road in Foxborough. This touchdown by Clowney certainly helps.

Defensively, the Texans have been able to hang with the Patriots at times in recent years. What has held them back has been terrible play by the Texans offense. After getting steamrolled by the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, the Texans have played better ball. They beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football last week.
