Here’s how to watch Sunday’s AAC matchup between the Connecticut Huskies and the East Carolina Pirates online.

College football fanatics will be able to get their fix a little later in the weekend on Sunday when the Connecticut Huskies host the East Carolina Pirates in the AAC opener for both teams.

After leading UConn to a 74-70 record between 2000 and 2010, head coach Randy Edsall is back for his second stint in Hartford. The Huskies opened the season with a touchdown win over Holy Cross before being blown out by Virginia last Saturday in Charlottesville for a 1-1 start to the 2017 campaign.

Quarterback Bryant Shirreffs has shown improvement from a middling 2016 season by completing 29-of-37 passes for 351 yards and three touchdowns and one interception through three games. Defensive back Jamar Summers has a chance to go in the first two rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft and is off to a great start with 15 tackles and four pass breakups.

East Carolina enters conference play at 0-3 and appears to be sliding quickly under Scottie Montgomery, who replaced successful head coach Ruffin McNeil prior to the 2016 season. The Pirates had some hope of scoring a major upset last weekend after building a 17-7 lead on Virginia Tech, but allowed the Hokies to reel off 57 straight points in a blowout loss.

Duke transfer quarterback Thomas Sirk appears likely to play on Sunday after missing the Virginia game with concussion-like symptoms. East Carolina is allowing a miserable 51.3 points per game, although linebacker Jordan Williams has been productive enough with 35 tackles through three games.

Sunday’s matchup was originally scheduled for Nov. 4, but was moved to Sunday to accommodate other changes in the wake of Hurricane Irma.
