Who won and lost in the Carmelo Anthony trade?

Loser: Enes Kanter
With Porzingis being a winner because he gets to run his own team, Enes Kanter is a loser. Kanter goes from an Oklahoma City team that hoped to contend with the Warriors in the West to a Knicks team that is likely going to miss the playoffs.
Kanter was an early candidate for Sixth Man of the Year award with the Thunder last season. A mid-season injury derailed that campaign. The big man is a great offensive player and a defensive liability. A sixth man role suited his skill set perfectly. He was able to feast on reserve big men while being an offensive fulcrum.
One saving grace for Kanter is that he does pair well with Porzingis unique skill set. Kanter is a terror on the boards but provides little spacing or rim protection. Luckily, Porzingis excels in those two areas. The Knicks can enter the modern NBA due to this unique frontcourt.
Kanter goes from the sixth man on a contender to a likely starter on a lottery team. This team will go through growing pains with the amount of youth. The ability for Kanter to provide a steady hand and grow into a partner for Porzingis will determine how well this trade ends up for the Knicks.
