By Jack Crosby
Throughout the NFL weekend we’ve seen teams demonstrate in their own ways, and on Monday night, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys provided their own statement
To say that the NFL action on the field this weekend has been overshadowed in Week 3 would be an understatement, but that’s for good reason. Following the recent controversial comments made by President Donald Trump in regards to how athletes conduct themselves during the national anthem, we’ve seen a wave of protests and signs of unity this weekend. Monday night, before they take on the Arizona Cardinals, everyone was wondering how the Dallas Cowboys may approach the matter, and they sort of had everyone shocked.
Right before the national anthem was played on Monday night, the ESPN cameras panned to a truly incredible sight. That sight was the Cowboys, along with owner Jerry Jones, taking a knee and uniting arm-in-arm on the field.
Given some past comments, many were truly stunned to see Jones on the field with the players in this manner. But in maybe the ultimate sign of unity on Monday night, the longtime owner of the Cowboys made sure that he was part of what will be remembered as a historical weekend with his players and coaching staff. The entire team took part in this, and Jones made sure to include himself.
