The Scorpion season 4 premiere starts with … the end of the human race?! Here’s how you can watch season 4, episode 1 live, on TV and online.

Scorpion season 4 begins Monday, and CBS‘s quirky crimefighting series may have topped itself for most unique plot with what’s happening in the Scorpion season 4 premiere.

Season 4, episode 1 is called “Extinction” because the show’s genius squad must work to stop the end of mankind. That’s right, the destruction of the entire human race. This show has come up with some wild stories in the past, but this could be the most head-scratching one. Especially because where is Scorpion season 4 supposed to go after stopping the demise of humanity? Every other case will probably seem like small potatoes after this.

As if that wasn’t surprising enough for you, “Extinction” also features a musical number. Because you’d think there would be a musical number in a crime-stopping show. Well, maybe one that stars American Idol alum Katharine McPhee. But if you’ve ever wanted to see the T-1000 himself, aka Robert Patrick, in a musical number you’ll get your wish in the Scorpion season 4 opener.

"Team Scorpion must work with their old nemesis Mark Collins in order to prevent the extinction of mankind. Walter and Paige awkwardly navigate their new relationship. Also, Team Scorpion sings that “Everything Is Absolutely Genius.”"
