Jerry Jones stunned a lot of people on Monday night when he took a knee with his players prior to Monday Night Football.
Heading into the Monday Night Football matchup this week featuring the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Arizona Cardinals, everyone was wondering how the Dallas Cowboys may approach the much-publicized NFL national anthem protests that have been taking place. More specifically, those folks were wondering how Cowboys owner Jerry Jones might approach things.
Well, it didn’t take us long to find out where Jones stood on all of this Monday night, and it did leave some people a little stunned. Prior to the national anthem even being sung out in Arizona, Jones joined his Cowboys team on the field where they would lock arms in unity and take a knee.

Now if you happen to be wondering why this is sort of a shocking development, well, Jones admittedly did not think that the anthem was the proper place for a protest. He had this to say prior to President Trump making the comments that he did.
“I do not think the place to express yourself in society is as we recognize the American flag,” Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told FOX Business. “So that’s not the place to do anything other than honor the flag and everybody that’s given up a little bit for it.”
Obviously, Jones had a surprise for everyone in the form of a change of heart. He decided, it seems, that the right thing to do was to be out there with his players, which is something that has to be commended.
