Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups Week 4

One of the keys to being a step ahead of others in season-long fantasy is to keep a close eye on the waiver wire and jump to get useful players. Whether you use these fantasy football players for one week or keep them to see what they become, its always good to have a few assets that could turn out to be diamonds in the rough. Although some have been scooped up by now, there are three players that are available in most leagues that I think would be good waiver wire pickups for Week 4.

More from Fantasy

1. Marqise Lee WR, Jaguars:

With Allen Robinson injured, Marqise Lee has a larger share of the targets for Jacksonville. I think that his targets surpassing those of Allen Hurns is an indication that Lee is the more impactful receiver from a fantasy perspective. The Jaguars have looked surprisingly good and fantasy owners are going to be starting to look their way soon. This week, starting Lee against the Jets would seem to be a smart move, as well as starting him in week 5 against the Steelers and definitely week 6 against the Colts.

2. Devin Funchess WR, Panthers

I know, I know… many DFS writers (myself included) advocated for Funchess in a week 3 matchup against the Saints. Four catches and less than 60 yards was not good enough for a WR roster spot. However, I don’t expect that Newton will have many games where he fails to pass for a touchdown. Also, Kelvin Benjamin is injured and may miss time, meaning that Funchess has to step up. For the sake of fantasy owners everywhere, I hope this is the week.

3. Charles Clay TE, Bills

Charles Clay has proven to be consistent week in and week out for the Bills and we as fantasy owners should reward him. He scored a touchdown last week and is a familiar target for Tyrod Taylor, who hasn’t quite been able to get the ball to Jordan Matthews the way he had hoped. Clay remains a reliable mid-range threat and “check-down” option for the Bills moving forward and still has unbelievable low ownership.
