After an exciting week in the ACC, Clemson remains atop the conference power rankings while other teams make some big jumps behind them.

Another week, and another top spot for the Clemson Tigers to show for it as they deepen their mark in the ACC week in and week out.

The Tigers showed that they’re a consistent threat against any ACC team, as they laid down the law against Boston College in a 34-7 shellacking at home this past weekend. They’re the best of the best in the conference, and now it’s time for someone else in the ACC to show they can even remotely keep up with Clemson.

This past weekend saw a ton of movement in the rankings, especially after NC State’s win over Florida State, and we could see even more craziness in Week 5 when Clemson and NC State do battle on Saturday in a huge game.

In the meantime, here’s a refreshing new edition of the ACC power rankings, with plenty of big moves and fresh faces in new places to tide you over before another big weekend in the college football season.

Boston College Eagles 1-3

Last week: Lost 34-7 to Clemson
Last rank: 12

Don’t @ me for this one, like some of you have before, but it’s finally time to admit that Boston College is just awful this season.

Sure, they’ve played some tough teams in the last two weeks with losses to Notre Dame and Clemson to show for it, but it’s more about how they looked in those respective losses. They were solid for two quarters against the Fighting Irish but faltered when it mattered most. Then, when it came down to playing the best of the best in the ACC, they couldn’t put anything together on either side of the ball. Sorry, Eagles fans, but this just isn’t your year.

Pittsburgh Panthers 1-3

Last week: Lost 35-17 to Georgia Tech
Last rank: 13

They played a tough Georgia Tech squad on Saturday, and thankfully put up at least a respectable showing against the Yellow Jackets, but Pittsburgh just isn’t cutting it this year in the ACC.

The Panthers are 1-3 through the first four weeks of the 2017 season, and they’ve really fallen from grace quickly as we’ve gone through the first month of the year. Maybe they can play spoiler later on in the year, but the talent just isn’t there for the Panthers at the moment to do any damage against good teams this year. Hell, they’re barely good enough to beat bad teams like Youngstown State right now.
