Duke Blue Devils 4-0

Last week: Won 27-17 over North Carolina
Last rank: 7

This decision definitely was a difficult one to have to make, but a crazy week in the ACC somehow pushed the undefeated Duke Blue Devils to number eight on the list after Week 4 in the season.

Duke has become one of the stronger teams in the conference, evident by the big zero in the loss column that the team has to brag about, but too many other factors came into play with some other teams. Add in the fact that Duke only beat North Carolina, albeit a team notorious lately for fighting until the end against good teams, by 10 points, and it’s tough to justify them back at the seventh spot.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 2-1

Last week: Won 35-17 over Pittsburgh
Last rank: 6

Somehow, with all of the madness and just like a few teams on this list, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets find themselves down a spot after winning big on Saturday.

Georgia Tech pulled off a 35-17 victory over Pittsburgh this past weekend, which isn’t exactly anything to write home about, and partially fall victim to NC State’s big performance from the clouds against Florida State. If it hadn’t been for that big Wolfpack win, the Yellow Jackets would likely still have their spot at number six in the power rankings. All it takes is one loss from one or two teams ahead of them, and they’re right back in the mix.
