The college football recruiting landscape is forever changing and this is what happened in Week 4.

Another week of college football action is in the books and even with all the craziness that happened on the field in Week 4, there were commitments on the recruiting trail to speak of. Some major programs added pieces to their 2018 classes that could have major implications on future success.

Recruiting is beginning to take on a life of its own as some fans care more about high school players committing to their school than actual on-field results — or at least sometimes it feels that way. Let’s take a look at the recruiting roundup from Week 4.

Note: Latest commitments, rankings and scheduled visits come from 247Sports.

Michigan lands 3-star QB Kevin Doyle

Michigan picking up a three-star commit? Those two things are never muttered in the same sentence anymore, at least since Jim Harbaugh has taken over. The Wolverines picked up a commitment from three-star 2018 quarterback Kevin Doyle from Washington D.C. last week.

Harbaugh is the quarterback whisperer, so he may just be able to turn Doyle into an All-American before it’s all said and done. He’s ranked the No. 390 recruit in the class and 15th-best pro-style quarterback.

Georgia remains hot

After landing three-star defensive tackle Tramel Walthour last week, Georgia and Kirby Smart remained hot in Week 4, picking up a pledge from three-star safety Aaron Brule. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound safety from Louisiana is ranked the No. 392 recruit in the class and bolsters Georgia’s already-strong group. Success on the field is translating to the recruiting landscape for the Bulldogs.

Mekhi Becton’s success helping Louisville?

Early in the 2017 season, Louisville has developed a star in true freshman offensive tackle Mekhi Becton. The mammoth offensive lineman picked the Cardinals over multiple other Power Five schools late in the process and he’s already turning heads. Is his success helping the Cardinals in the recruiting scene? It seems that way as Louisville landed three-star offensive tackle Adonis Boone last week. Boone held 28 offers and stands 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds.
