Georgia will take its’ 4-0 record to Tennessee for a heavyweight SEC matchup. Here’s the TV schedule, a full preview and a final prediction.
Last week, I wrote about the Georgia-Mississippi State matchup in Athens, GA and ate crow for picking Mississippi State. QB Jake Fromm and Georgia came out and punched their SEC rivals in the mouth and didn’t look back.
Originally, the young quarterback and coach combination didn’t bode well in a big game, but they proved me entirely wrong. It was their resilient defense that really stole the show, holding the Bulldogs to only three points in the game. That win put them at 4-0, adding to their signature win at Notre Dame a few weeks earlier.
On the other sideline, Butch Jones and Tennessee roll into this game at 3-1. On the outside, everything seems to be pretty, with the Volunteers defeating Georgia Tech, Indiana State and University of Massachusetts. But they also dropped a last-second nailbiter in Florida. With Jones’ job seemingly on the line every week, it’s critical that the Volunteers come out of the gates firing this week, otherwise it’ll fuel the fire to his very, very hot seat.
