Thursday Night Football between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers is in a weather delay due to lightning in the area. When will the game resume?

As soon as the first quarter ended on Thursday Night Football in Week 4 of the NFL season between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers, there was a weather delay at Lambeau Field.

Both teams and all fans at Lambeau Field had to clear the stands and head into the concourse due to lightning in the area. It is all part of the NFL’s protocol for the safety of all in attendance. When will this game resume?

CBS’ Tracy Wolfson has the latest. After the initial lightning strike, it is required to have play stopped for 30 minutes. Once the weather cooperates, the two teams can go back on to the field and begin a 10-minute warm up period before play resumes. This is all continent on there being no other lighting strikes of course.

UPDATE: The game is now set to resume around 10 p.m. ET.

The Packers dominated the Bears in the first quarter, leading 14-0 through the first frame. Chicago was terribly sloppy with the football, including a play where Mike Glennon had the ball snapped off his long legs for an embarrassing turnover.

Green Bay has taken advantage of Chicago’s miscues for two easy, short-field scores. Giving Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers a short field at home is never going to be good for the visiting team.

Though Chicago is coming off its first win of the season, Green Bay is the overwhelming favorite at home in this rivalry series. Unless the weather delay negatively affects the Packers, they should be able to roll to 3-1 on the year, while the Bears fumble to 1-3.
