The folks at Butterfinger were being quite mean to the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, and okay, it was actually kind of hilarious.
Given the way they’ve played on Thursday Night Football, it’s pretty easy to make fun of the Chicago Bears right now. They’re playing just downright horribly against the Green Bay Packers on the road, especially on the offensive side of the ball where quarterback Mike Glennon has not had his best night, leading to more and more calls for rookie Mitchell Trubisky to finally get the nod under center.
All you had to do to see how the Bears were playing on Thursday night was take one quick look through Twitter, and if you did, some particular trolls may have caught your eye. There was a certain candy Twitter account that decided to take some shots at the Bears, and with the way things were going for the team, it was actually quite fitting.
After Glennon fumbled a snap off his knee in the first quarter, it all started with this.
The Bears even jumped in for their own defense upon seeing the troll hurled their way.
But, then we found out that the social media person for Butterfinger probably deserves a raise.
Many people are on their keyboards Thursday night taking shots at the Bears and the putrid football they’re playing in Lambeau Field, but it won’t get much better than this. When you’re getting trolled by a candy, then you know you’re definitely having a bad night on the gridiron.
Who knows, though, maybe being trolled by a candy will force you to do the right thing and give your second overall pick a shot under center. If that’s what it takes, then most Bears fans will more than pleased.
