College Football Picks Against The Spread September 28-29, 2017
I haven’t finished watching all of the games from last weekend yet, so the tallies from last week aren’t done. I did get only 43 points in Pick Em last week, so the spread picks likely aren’t as good as I want. However, I did go 3-0 in my pre-Saturday college football picks. It’s the small things….

For those of you that are new here, I put myself out there every week. For the last six years, I have picked every single college football game. Sounds easy, right? I thought so too. So I have picked them all against the spread. That significantly increases the degree of difficulty.
I take the average of the odds from the six major Vegas casinos and round that to the nearest half point. There will be no ties here. Ties are for the other football.
Some site will sell you top ten picks for a fee. Some will even give you a couple of free picks to lure you in. This is every game picked, all for free.
This contains the picks for FBS vs. FBS games only. It is too hard to get an accurate spread on games that involve 1-AA teams.
I will assign a point value “bet” on each game, between one and five points. That way you can see just how confident I am in each pick. Look for those at the end of each line. I am 27 points to the good this year, but am still paying last year’s debt.
I cannot be responsible for you losing any of your worldly possessions, significant others, or limbs to a loan shark. This is for entertainment purposes only! I am a simple person. I cannot have that on my conscience.
We are down to just 54 games this weekend. Only one game features a 1-AA team, so that means I have 53 college football games to pick, and most of them are conference tilts. This is when things start to get interesting!
Five of those 53 college football games take place before Saturday. Let’s get to those early picks!
Texas(-4.5) at Iowa State(2): This line is falling fast. It’s tough in Ames, especially on a national stage. This is the only football on tonight. Chris Warren will make the difference for Texas, and considering they were able to hold USC and Sam Darnold under 30, I have to go with Texas. That said, I would much rather bet the under on 62.
(14)Miami(FL)(-6.5) at Duke(2): This is a Friday road game for the Hurricanes. I’m not saying this is a bad team. I’m just saying that they aren’t a touchdown better than Duke in Durham. Give me Duke.
Nebraska(-5.5) at Illinois(2): This it the real make or break game for Nebraska. Illinois has a solid defense, but they also have trouble moving the ball and don’t have the speed that Oregon did to disrupt the defense. Considering Tanner Lee is good for at least one touchdown for the Illini, I’m going Illinois at home.
BYU(-1.5) at Utah State(3): This line is down five points already, but I still haven’t seen on thing that says BYU should be favored here. Tanner Mangum is out again, and the Cougars are on the road. Aggies straight up.
(5)USC(-3.5) at (16)Washington State(2): I want so badly to pick Washington State. I’m just not sure they can do it. This is the moment they have been waiting for. They are good enough to hang with a top five team in Pullman, especially a top five team that doesn’t look like a top five team. USC forced six turnovers from Cal and still didn’t cover. Luke Falk wont be so careless. I’m going Wazzu at home!
