The 49ers and Cardinals have both struggled in the NFC West to start the season, and both teams are looking to further bury a divisional rival on Sunday.

Between the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals, there’s just one total win over the two teams’ combined six games so far this season. Now, as we enter Week 4, the 49ers will continue their search for their first win of the year on the road against the Cardinals on Sunday.

The Cardinals have a lot of offensive momentum to work with after a stellar performance from Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, but they have to figure out what’s wrong on defense first.

Meanwhile, the 49ers are riding a ton of offensive momentum as well, after a shootout with the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football last week that ended in a failed comeback attempt late in the fourth quarter.

Odds: Cardinals -7.5, according to SportsBook Review

The two teams are actually relatively equal in the issues they have to work out to start the season, and we could be in for a high-scoring game on Sunday afternoon in Glendale if things go as expected. We’ve seen Brian Hoyer gaining steam under center for the 49ers, specifically in his game against the Rams last week, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can keep that pace up.

It’s tough to pick a game as a 38-35 affair or anything like that in any game, but it’s especially difficult in a game like this where both teams aren’t any spectacular this season. Sure, the 49ers put up a lot of points last week, but it was against the Rams. Sure, the Cardinals had some solid offensive stats last week, but they didn’t put up a lot of points in the process.

This should be a nice middle ground on Sunday afternoon, and I see the Cardinals pulling out the win at home.

Pick: Cardinals 27, 49ers 17
