Bears at Packers: Highlights, score and recap

The Green Bay Packers were able to take care of business at home on Thursday night, as they made quick work of rival Chicago inside Lambeau Field.

The Green Bay Packers’ offense looked like a bolt of lightning early on, as Aaron Rodgers connected for two first quarter touchdowns. Then, real lightning struck, and the two teams went into the locker rooms in a weather delay. After the delay, Green Bay was able to put another touchdown on the board after a Mike Glennon interception, but Glennon threw a touchdown pass before the half to make the score 21-7.

In the second half, the Packers would continue to roll, as Rodgers would finish with four touchdowns in the game. Two of those scores went to Jordy Nelson, as the receiving corps looked healthy once more. The Pack did lose Ty Montgomery to broken ribs during the first half, but rookie Aaron Jones filled in, and even scored his first NFL touchdown in the game.

Three Stars

1. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers had it going on Thursday night, connecting on four touchdown passes in the game. His two touchdowns in the first quarter got the party started, and he finished up by hitting Jordy Nelson twice in the second half.

2. Clay Matthews, Green Bay Packers

Clay Matthews registered his 75th sack on Thursday night, becoming the all-time sack leader in Green Bay Packers history. The star linebacker had three tackles in the game, and also registered a huge forced fumble.

3. Kendall Wright, Chicago Bears

The lone bright spot on offense for the Bears on Monday night was Kendall Wright. Wright caught a nice touchdown pass from Mike Glennon, and has really stepped into that WR1 role with Cameron Meredith and Kevin White out for the season.

Odds

The Packers came into this game as seven-point favorites, and they proved the odds makers right early on. Green Bay went into the locker room with a 21-7 lead, and eventually they covered the spread. The Bears can be seen in primetime again in Week 5, as they will head home to Soldier Field and welcome NFC North rival Minnesota to the Windy City. Green Bay hits the road next weekend, traveling to Dallas to take on the Cowboys inside AT&T Stadium.
