Is it Trubisky time for the Chicago Bears?

The Chicago Bears have a choice to make. After Mike Glennon’s terrible performance (21/33 218-1-2) against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, is it time for Trubisky?

Mitchell Trubisky, the quarterback the Bears drafted second overall, has yet to throw a ball in the 2017 NFL regular season. Still, many are calling for him to start over Mike Glennon. Glennon, who signed a $43.5 million, three-year deal this offseason, has had a pretty bad year.

Glennon has thrown for 833 yards at a completion percentage of 66.4 percent through four games. While that is not the worst stat line in football this year, his 4:5 touchdown to interception ratio makes it much worse. He’s averaging six yards per attempt.

Cue the Trubisky rumors.

The former Bears offensive lineman Olin Kreutz chimed in early.

Benjamin Allbright said he is hearing the same stuff.

While John Fox did not name a starter immediately after the bad loss to Green Bay, all signs point towards Trubisky getting the nod. The Bears are 1-2 and see the chance of any sort of a successful season slipping away, and Glennon cannot right the sinking ship.

In the Bears’ solitary win, they won in spite of Glennon, not because of him. Glennon was 15-22 for 101 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The Bears three losses come off of poor performances by Glennon.

Trubisky, however, only has stats from the preseason. Still, he threw for three touchdowns to zero interceptions on a 68 completion percentage. He also averaged 9.6 yards per carry on the ground.

The Bears need to do something to put some spark back into their season. They drafted Trubisky to save their franchise, not to ride the bench. They should let Trubisky see the NFL for himself and at least try to save their season and not hold onto the hope that they can win in spite of Glennon.
