Steelers at Ravens: Preview, prediction, odds and pick

CLEVELAND, OH - SEPTEMBER 10: Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger
CLEVELAND, OH - SEPTEMBER 10: Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger

The Steelers and Ravens have an intense rivalry, and now it’s time for their first meeting of the year with the two teams battling in Baltimore on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens look like they will be the top two teams in the AFC North through the first three weeks of the 2017 season, but they both didn’t look the part in their respective Week 3 matchups.

Last week, the Steelers fell to the Chicago Bears in a brutal overtime loss, while the Ravens couldn’t get anything going and got blown out on an international stage in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams didn’t look like they had the previous two weeks, and now they’ll both enter Week 4 with 2-1 records to show for their efforts.

This game could mean a lot in the AFC North division race as the year plays out, with the winner of this game taking sole possession of the top spot in the division as we basically wrap up the first quarter of the regular season for both teams.

Odds: Steelers -2.5, according to SportsBook Review

The Steelers have more talent to work with offensively than the Ravens do in their lineup, but the real kicker here will be the two defenses battling. The Ravens put on some incredible defensive performances in the first two weeks of the season but faltered in a big way against the Jaguars last week in London. If they have any chance of winning, that can’t happen again.

This game should be close, and I can’t imagine the Ravens defense giving up the points they did last week, especially in a big home game against their biggest rival this week. However, I think their offense will struggle, and this relatively low-scoring game will go in the Steelers’ favor.

Pick: Steelers 20, Ravens 17
