Andrea Lee is pulled from UFC 216 as her debut is postponed at least six months.
A few hours after the announcement of Andrea Lee’s UFC debut, the fighter known as “KGB” will have to wait a bit longer before she steps into the Octagon. Her bout with Kalindra Faria has been pulled from UFC 216.
According to Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting, Lee was informed that she will be unable to fight due to not being a part of the USADA testing pool. Lee has a failed test on her record so she must go through the testing pool for six months before being allowed to fight. In March of 2016 the current Legacy Fighting Alliance flyweight champion tested positive for diuretics. Since then, she’s fought four times in 2017, finishing three of her opponents in highlight-reel fashion.
Neither Lee nor the UFC commented on the development that forced this 28-year-old prospect off of the card. Lee has an 8-2 professional record which includes her current four-fight win streak.
With a little more than a week left, the UFC is attempting to keep Faria on the card. With an 18-5-1 professional record, this was also supposed to be Faria’s UFC debut. The Brazilian is riding a three-fight win streak and has stepped into the cage against some top level competitors the likes of Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Jessica Aguilar and Claudia Gadelha.
