The Penn State Nittany Lions were thought to be a College Football Playoff team last season, but instead the committee voted in Ohio State despite the fact Penn State beat them during the regular season. In 2017, they are out to make sure there is no dispute amongst the voters, as they have showed domination in nearly every game. They escaped a tough one on the road against Iowa in Week 4, and then went out and destroyed Indiana on Saturday.

Among all of the players in college football, one name continues to stand out. Running back Saquon Barkley is an absolute freak of nature, and is getting to the point where he may run away with the Heisman Trophy. He did not do much on the ground on Saturday, but returned a kickoff 98 yards for a score, and then finished up the scoring for Penn State by hitting DaeSean Hamilton with a 16-yard touchdown pass.

Quarterback Trace McSorley had a terrific day through the air in the team’s 45-14 victory, throwing for over 300 yards and two scores. Penn State got out to a 28-0 first quarter lead, before seeing the score cut in half before half time. After the break, the Nittany Lions dominated the Hoosiers, scoring 17 unanswered to complete the convincing victory.

Next weekend, the Nittany Lions hit the road to take on Northwestern, and they have to be hoping they have an easy one against the Wildcats. The following two weeks are going to be a battle, as they host Michigan, and then go on the road to play Ohio State. Penn State beat Ohio State inside Beaver Stadium last season, and you can be sure the Buckeyes will be looking to get revenge in front of their home fans in a couple of weeks.
