There’s no question that the Louisville Cardinals remain one of the most dangerous teams in college football. They have the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Lamar Jackson, in addition to solid pieces around him. However, this team looks to get back in their groove heading into Week 5. That chance is there for the taking as they face the Murray State Racers on Saturday.
Jackson has been predictably phenomenal this season. Even in Louisville’s loss to Clemson a few weeks ago, the quarterback was still prolific. Now he’ll look to be even more so in what is likely to be limited action. The Racers simply won’t have an answer for him in any capacity. What’s more the Cardinals defense should also feast.
Murray State enters this big game at just 1-3 on the season. If they’re to pull off the upset, dual-threat freshman quarterback Corey Newbie will need to shine. That’s a tall ask of him, but he could put his name on the map with a strong showing on Saturday.
