Here’s how you can watch Saturday’s Big Ten clash between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Maryland Terrapins.

Conference play in college football is set to get going in earnest this weekend, and the Minnesota Golden Gophers will welcome the Maryland Terrapins to town in the Big Ten opener for each team. The Gophers are 3-0 and coming off an off week, while the Terrapins are 2-1 after a 38-10 loss to Central Florida last week.

Maryland lost a second quarterback this season to a torn ACL last week, as freshman Kasim Hill went down in the first quarter. Tyrell Pigrome went down in the season-opening win over Texas, so sophomore Max Bortenschlager is in line to start on Saturday after stepping in for Hill last Saturday.

Minnesota has won their last two games, against Oregon State and Middle Tennessee, by a combined score of 82-17 and all three of their wins have come by double-digits. Conor Rhoda has clearly taken the reigns under center, and he made his first career start against Maryland last season in a 31-10 win.

According to SportsBook Review, the Gophers opened as a 9.5-point favorite and are currently a -12.5-point favorite. That adjustment was surely a reaction to news of Hill’s season-ending injury, and Maryland now starting their third-string quarterback in a conference road game. The over-under for the game currently sits at 48.5.

The Gophers’ defense should make things very difficult for Bortenschlager and the Terrapins’ offense, and set up the Rhoda-led offense for some extra opportunities on a short field. If P.J. Fleck uses another quarterback on Saturday, it’s likely to be by choice on the way to a decisive win.
