Here’s how to watch Saturday’s SEC West clash between the No. 24 Mississippi State Bulldogs and No. 13 Auburn Tigers.
Jordan-Hare Stadium will be host to a key SEC West matchup on Saturday night when the No. 24 Mississippi State Bulldogs visit the No. 13 Auburn Tigers.
After starting the season with middling expectations, Mississippi State shot all the way up to No. 16 in the AP Poll with a 37-7 dismantling of LSU on Sept. 16. The Bulldogs came crashing back down to earth one week later, as they were blown out by Georgia 31-3 in Athens.
Dan Mullen has worked magic with quarterbacks throughout his career and has one of the SEC’s best signal callers in Nick Fitzgerald at his disposal. Mississippi State’s defense appears to have made a huge leap from last season under new coordinator Todd Grantham and has some talented pieces like tackle Jeffrey Simmons.

Auburn had hopes of competing for the SEC West title and perhaps more entering the season but was given a wake-up call after a 14-6 loss to Clemson on Sept. 9 that saw its offense generate just 117 yards. Fans were starting to get really concerned one week later when the Tigers turned the ball over five times against FCS Mercer, although they recovered to destroy Missouri last Saturday.
Gus Malzahn’s offense is at its best with an effective run game, and the Tigers have a number of options to turn to in the backfield like Kamryn Pettway, Kam Martin and Kerryon Johnson. Auburn’s defense looks terrific for the second year in a row, although star linebacker Tre’ Williams is questionable with a shoulder injury.
