After this week the NFL season will be a quarter of the way finished for most teams. This article looks at 10 matchups to help you win your week.
A wacky Week 3 probably flipped your fantasy team on its head. This upcoming week will be a week to decide how to use the information the prior three weeks have given us.
The NFL has been in headlines thanks to the president every day of the week. The games may have been impacted by the players’ reaction to his tweets and comments. Does that carry over to another week where he continues to discuss it?
Week 4 will be another odd week for fantasy owners. Before diving into the matchups to attack this upcoming week, let’s take a look at how last week’s matchups fared.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton struggled against the porous Saints defense. He may not be fully healed from his offseason surgery and that offense needs to change things up. Hard to trust them moving forward.
Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson played very well against the Colts. The running back totaled over 100 yards from scrimmage and scored. Marlon Mack on the other hand still did not beat out Frank Gore or any back in the Indianapolis backfield. That was the worst call of the week.
Running back Jay Ajayi and the entire Dolphins offense could not solve the Jets and barely showed up to play. The consensus heading into the week was that Ajayi was going to dominate the league’s worst rushing defense. That clearly did not happen.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green performed up to expectations against the Packers. If you were wise enough to snag him in daily he made it pay off. In fact, both wide receivers performed adequately. Kansas City Chiefs star Tyreek Hill also caught a touchdown and had a good day against Los Angeles.
The tight ends were a mixed bag. Green Bay Packers’ Martellus Bennett lost a score to Lance Kendricks but continues to be on the field the majority of the Packers offensive plays. Jack Doyle was nowhere to be found in the Colts offensive explosion. Meanwhile, Eagles’ Zach Ertz salvaged a mediocre day with a touchdown score.
The defense of the Patriots almost lost to a rookie quarterback for the first time in the Belichick era. They did manage to pick of Deshaun Watson twice but only got to him for one sack and allowed 33 points.
Week 4 is shaping up to be a better week. Time to jump into ten matchups to target for your fantasy team. I will now be ranking them in order of my confidence heading into the week.
