Royce Freeman, star running back for the Oregon Ducks, left the game against the Cal Golden Bears with an apparent injury. The Ducks back has gone to the locker room.
The Oregon Ducks are battling the Cal Golden Bears on Saturday night. The Ducks’ Pac-12 home opener at Autzen Stadium is going pretty well right now. They currently lead the Golden Bears 17-0 in Eugene. Their lead, however, has not come without any consequence.
Royce Freeman, the Ducks’ star running back, injured himself in the first half. John Canzano of KGWN and The Oregonian pointed out that Freeman headed to the locker room following whatever injury he had sustained at that point. At that point, the injury was unclear. Though it was clear that it was something related to his right arm.
RB Royce Freeman goes to the Oregon locker room. Right wrist? arm? shoulder? Know more soon.

Freeman’s injury would be described later on by CSN Northwest. His shoulder is the area that is now in question. He fell awkwardly on it and favored it on his way toward the sideline. That then eventually led to Freeman’s exit from the game.
"Freeman gained 13 yards on a run to the right side and then immediately left the field favoring his shoulder. A few plays later Herbert threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Brenden Schooler to give the Ducks a 10-0 lead. After the touchdown, Freeman could be seen walking out of the stadium."
As CSNNW would indicate, Freeman is now listed as questionable to return to the game.
Royce Freeman’s impact on the Oregon offense goes without saying. The record-setting running back has been the driving force for the last few years. He already amounted 51 yards on just six carries in Saturday night’s game. If he remans absent, Freeman and his skill set will obviously be missed. Even with all the Ducks’ talented backfield in play.
Hopefully, more positive updates will come this way.
