Stoke are 15th in the Premier League table following a 4-0 loss to Chelsea last weekend. On Saturday, the Potters host Southampton, who are 11th in the table with eight points.

Stoke have struggled offensively and defensively this season ranking in the bottom half for goals scored and allowed. The Potters signed Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Schalke in the summer on a free transfer and he leads Stoke with two goals. Xherdan Shaqiri, Peter Crouch and Jese have all scored once for the Potters. For the majority of games this season, Mark Hughes has started Choupo-Moting and Shaqiri on the wings and Jese through the middle. With the front three struggling, Hughes might try changing his starting XI and start Crouch to give his team a bigger target in the box.
Southampton have only allowed five goals this season, tied for the third fewest in the Premier League this season. However, Mauricio Pellegrino’s side have scored only four goals. Charlie Austin and Manolo Gabbiadini have each scored once for the Saints but Pellegrino has started Shane Long in the last two games. The Irish striker has been subbed off in both games and is unlikely to start a third straight game. Southampton have to hope a game against a poor Stoke defense helps kick-start their offense.
