Saturday Night Live returns to television screens across the country this Saturday with the premiere of the show’s 43rd season. Who is hosting the episode? We have you covered with all the details.

It is probably safe to say that the 42nd season of Saturday Night Live was a wildly successful one.

Fueled in part by the political climate, the legendary sketch series raked in plenty of success from both a ratings and a critical standpoint.

Saturday Night Live was particularly successful at the recent Emmy awards. The show took home Outstanding Variety Sketch Series at the television awards show, and also featured wins by Kate McKinnon for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and Alec Baldwin for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

In fact, three of the six nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series — McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Vanessa Bayer — were nominated for their work on Saturday Night Live. The show was also nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, but lost out to HBO’s Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. What’s more, guest hosts Dave Chappelle and Mellissa McCarthy both took home Emmys for Outstanding Guest Actor and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

So how will Saturday Night Live kick off a 43rd season?

That would be with Ryan Gosling as host and Jay Z as musical guest.

The episode will mark a return to the show for the actor, who previously hosted back in December of 2015 in an episode featuring musical guest Leon Bridges.

Gosling is hosting in part to promote his latest film, Blade Runner 2049. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the movie marks a return to the franchise for Harrison Ford after starring in the first Blade Runner film in 1982. Joining Ford in the new film are a number of actors new to the franchise in Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Jared Leto, Ana de Armas, Lennie James, Mackenzie Davis and Barkhad Abdi.
