It was a good day for some college football coaches on the hot seat in Week 5. The same can’t be said for some of the others.
Week 5 has come and gone in college football and the season is really beginning to heat up. It was a big week for several programs, as they looked to make a climb and finally get the ball rolling toward a good year.
For others, it was the continuation of a downward spiral that seemingly has no end. As each week passes, the hot seats for several coaches will only get hotter. Firings are going to happen very soon and for a few it could very well already be too late.
It was a very terrible day for one coach in particular and the end could be here now. The bye week blues are real in college football and a certain coach in orange could be singing them very soon. Here are the winners and losers from Week 5.
Winner – Jim Mora
After two wins to start the season, the UCLA Bruins would even that up with two losses. A conference loss on the road to Stanford was enough to question whether or not Jim Mora was getting the most out of his talent.
Back at home ,the Bruins fought to a tough win against Colorado. It wasn’t an easy victory, but the Bruins got the job done against a good opponent. It was exactly the quality win that Mora needed as he stacks wins.
At 3-2, the Bruins are far from done in their division and can use this win to springboard themselves forward. Taking care of home games is a big deal and the Bruins did just that on Saturday night.
