Steelers at Ravens: Highlights, score and recap

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens faced off in an AFC North showdown, with the Steelers winning 26-9 on the road.

An AFC North showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens turned into a mostly one-sided show in favor of the Steelers. This was a typical AFC North battle, pitting tough defenses against each other. It was evident in the first half which team came to play and which team didn’t.

The Steelers went up 19-0 before the half ended and that signaled the way the game was going to go.

Baltimore’s offense didn’t show up at all and quarterback Joe Flacco threw two interceptions that ended any chance of a comeback for the Ravens in the second half.

With the win, the Steelers move to 3-1 and hold the lead in the AFC North, while the Ravens fall to 2-2. Here are some highlights from the game along with the three stars.

1. RB Le’Veon Bell

This was vintage Le’Veon Bell at his finest. All throughout the season, Bell’s been hampered by the fact that he didn’t show up for training camp and started the season off cold. Today was his breaking out party for the season, as Bell was given most of the workload on offense.

He had 35 carries for 144 yards, two touchdowns and a long of 21 yards. He also had four receptions for 42 yards.

2. Pittsburgh’s defense

The defense in Pittsburgh was looking like the old “Steel Curtain” defenses. They only gave up 235 yards passing to Baltimore and only nine points for the entire game. They also got two interceptions and that helped create offense for Big Ben and the Steelers.

They held the rushing game under 100 yards and also got to the quarterback often. They looked good on the road and deserve a star for their performance.

3. WR JuJu Smith-Schuster

The rookie wide receiver had himself a game in Baltimore. While he only had three catches on the day, they came in key spots and totaled for 47 yards. The Steelers weren’t interested in throwing the ball, but Smith-Schuster routinely made plays.

The rookie WR also got his first touchdown of the day and had a sweet celebration to go with it.

The Steelers were three-point favorites in this game and they definitely covered the spread, winning the game by 17 points. The total was set to 42 points and the under won out, because the teams only combined for 33 points.
