After another dominant win over a talented ACC squad on Saturday, Clemson showed why they can’t be touched at the top of the conference.

At this point in the season, it’s Clemson against everybody in the ACC as a whole, and the Tigers are easily winning the battle every week.

Clemson has dominated every challenge that has come up over the last few weeks, and they have shown they could easily make a run this season at a second straight national championship. This past Saturday night, on the primetime stage, they silenced any doubts when they beat Virginia Tech 31-17 on the road, who likely was their biggest challenge outside of Miami in the ACC.

Now, with Clemson still atop the field, it’s time for someone else to step up and give the Tigers a challenge. In a week with some movement around the conference, the conference still remains as one where teams are fighting for second place. Check out this week’s rankings below, and see what teams are on the rise to potentially trying to upset Clemson this season.

I think I’m just being generous now with the first team on each week of the power rankings, because I can’t commit to who’s the worst team in the ACC with how many bad teams there are to choose from at the bottom. Last week it was the Boston College Eagles, and this week, North Carolina takes the cake for the worst of the worst.

North Carolina put on a poor performance against Georgia Tech in a 33-7 loss over the weekend, and although the Yellow Jackets are a good team, the Tar Heels shouldn’t have lost as badly as they did. They looked like a weak ACC team in Week 5, and they’ll need to bounce back in a big way to show that they’re better than teams like Boston College and Virginia.

Boston College fans are lucky that North Carolina put on the showing they did in Week 5, or else they could possibly still be last even after a win over the weekend.

The Eagles beat Central Michigan in a 28-8 snooze-fest on Saturday in poor conditions at home, but it’s not like a win over Central Michigan is a real momentum shifter for the Eagles. They have a big game on Saturday against Virginia Tech that likely won’t go well, but a solid showing there (or even an upset) would be huge for Boston College when it comes to their status in the ACC.
