3. Best bullpen weapon

No one is mistaking either of these teams’ bullpens for the best in the league. The Diamondbacks have the Fernando Rodney Experience closing games in the ninth inning while the Rockies have Greg Holland trying to hold it together in his first year back from Tommy John surgery. It might get interesting if this game somehow goes to extra innings.

Archie Bradley is the best reliever in this game, and the Diamondbacks have him. The right-hander is the latest in a long line of failed starters to find great success in the bullpen. Bradley threw 73 innings in 63 games this year and had a 1.73 ERA. He allowed only four home runs the entire season.

The Diamondbacks also have another interesting weapon to consider in their bullpen — starter Robbie Ray. Ray would be slated to start Game 1 of the NLDS if the Diamondbacks make it that far. However, this is the game they have to be most focused on winning. Ray should be able to pitch an inning or two in the Wild Card Game and then return to start Game 2 of the division series.

Things might get interesting in this game once the starters leave, but the Diamondbacks do have the best multi-inning reliever in the game in Bradley. His career has not gone exactly according to plan after being picked in the first round, but the 25-year-old has found his home in the Arizona bullpen.
