Argentina face Peru at Estadio Alberto J. Armando on Thursday, Oct. 5. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Argentina and Peru play in the penultimate World Cup qualifying match for CONMEBOL. With both teams level on 24 points, the winner will likely advance to Russia next summer. While the loser still has a chance to qualify, they might have to go through the playoff round. Four points separate second-place Uruguay and sixth-place Chile. The top four teams in South America automatically qualify for the World Cup, while the fifth-place nation advances to the playoff round.

Argentina have rebounded from an awful start to qualifying. However, La Albiceleste have not looked like the offensive powerhouse that they have been in the post. In 16 qualifying games, Argentina has scored only 16 goals. Lionel Messi has four goals, but no other player has more than two. Gonzalo Higuain has scored only once in qualifying and after a slow start was not called up. Instead his Juventus teammate Paulo Dybala will play alongside Messi. Dybala has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, including 10 in Serie A.

After 16 games, only Brazil and Uruguay have scored more goals than Peru. Edison Flores, Paolo Guerrero, and Christian Cueva have combined to score 14 goals. The trio will be depended on to provide Peru with goals. La Blanquirroja have not qualified for the World Cup since 1982 when they failed to get out of the group stage. Stealing a point from Argentina in Buenos Aires would go a long way to helping Peru get back into the World Cup.
